Race For Georgia 6th Congressional Seat Tightens Going Into Election Day
A new poll shows Jon Ossoff has a small lead headed into Election Day in the race for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District.
According to a WSB-Landmark Communications poll, Ossoff holds a 2 point lead over Republican Karen Handel.
The poll found Ossoff with support from 49.7 percent of likely voters with Handel getting support from 48 percent.
The poll also found that just 2.3 percent of voters are undecided going into election day.
The suburban Geogoria district has long been a Republican stronghold and both Democrats and Republicans have looked at the special election as an early indicator of the 2018 midterm elections.
More than 140,000 people have already voted early in the race. The massive national interest in the race has led it to become the most expensive Congressional race in history with over $50 million being spent so far.
In an earlier poll, Ossoff had a 7 point lead.
About the poll: The WSB-Landmark Communications poll surveyed 800 likely voters. The poll has a 3.46% margin of error.
