Trump Admits He Lied About Comey Tapes
Trump Admits He Threatened James Comey With Fake Tapes.
After weeks of speculation, Donald Trump on Thursday admitted that he does not have any recordings of his conversations with former FBI Director James Comey – despite having threatened Comey with the tapes on Twitter.
“I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings,” Trump tweeted.
Trump however, raised the possibility that a third party could have recorded his conversations with the ousted FBI director.
“With all of the recently reported electronic surveillance, intercepts, unmasking and illegal leaking of information, I have no idea whether there are ‘tapes’ or recordings of my conversations with James Comey,” he tweeted.
…whether there are “tapes” or recordings of my conversations with James Comey, but I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings.

In a previous tweet, Trump said, “James Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!”
Since the tweet, Trump and his staff have avoided questions about the existence of recordings.
Congressional investigators have demanded the tapes be preserved if they exist.
