Donald Trump Embarrassed Himself During Meeting With Republican Senators
Donald Trump seemed to have a hard time displaying a command of the details of the Republican health care bill that he is trying to convince the country to accept.
According to a Senate staffer who spoke with the New York Times, “A senator who supports the bill left the meeting at the White House with a sense that the president did not have a grasp of some basic elements of the Senate plan — and seemed especially confused when a moderate Republican complained that opponents of the bill would cast it as a massive tax break for the wealthy.”
Donald Trump seemed confused by the issue and told the Senator that he plans on dealing with tax reform later. “Mr. Trump said he planned to tackle tax reform later, ignoring the repeal’s tax implications, the staff member added,” according to The New York Times report.
Not surprisingly Trump tweeted after the meeting saying what a success it was. “I just finished a great meeting with the Republican Senators concerning HealthCare,” he tweeted. “They really want to get it right, unlike OCare!”
