Obamacare Gets Highest Ever Approval Rating In New Poll
As the Republican effort to repeal Obamacare stalls, Americans are increasingly favorable towards Obamacare.
According to a recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll, 51 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of the Affordable Care Act – the highest ever rating for President Obama’s landmark legislation in the Kaiser poll.
As you can see in the graph, Obamacare’s increase in favorability has corresponded with Republican efforts to repeal the health bill.
Republican plan is increasingly unpopular
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation poll, 55 percent of Americans have an unfavorable view of the Republican health plan. The GOP plan continues to lose support, even among Republicans.
“In the past month, support for the replacement plan has decreased among Republicans (from 67 percent in May to 56 percent currently) and among supporters of President Trump (from 69 percent to 55 percent),” according to Kaiser.
Medicaid is very, very popular
Additionally, 74 percent of Americans have a favorable view of Medicaid the Kaiser poll found.
“In addition, six in ten say the program is working well for most low-income people nationally (61 percent) and seven in ten say the program is working well for most low-income people in their state (67 percent),” according to the Kaiser poll.
