Trump Lawyers: Meetings With Russians Are A Setup
Trump team’s latest statement about Russia meetings sure sounds suspicious.
The latest set of talking points from Donald Trump’s Russia lawyers indicate a shift in the Trump team’s strategy.
The Trump team is now going for the “we’ve been set up, man” defense.
On Saturday, it was revealed by The New York Times that Donald Trump Jr, Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner met with a Kremlin-linked lawyer at the height of the campaign.
Notably, Trump Jr. and Kushner did not deny the meeting.
However, it was the statement from Donald Trump’s legal team that is raising eyebrows.
Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Trump’s outside counsel, is suggesting the meeting was some kind of set up.
When you go from total denial to claiming it’s a setup, it indicates you know that the facts say you are guilty.
