Poll: Most Republicans Think People Going To College Is Bad
In today edition of what the effff is happening in this country, a new poll finds that most Republicans think that higher education is bad.
Yes, you read that right. College = bad for most GOP voters.
A Pew poll released Monday found that Republicans’ views of higher education institutions have taken a dramatic turn for the worse since 2015.
In September 2015, 54 percent of Republicans told Pew that they had a positive stance on college and universities, while 37 percent felt negatively toward them.
Today, Republicans have done a full 180 on the issue with 58 percent of Republicans saying that colleges and universities had a “negative effect on the way things are going in the country.”
And just 36 percent maintained that they’re good for the country.

As you can see, Democrats are strongly favorable towards higher education with a large majority of Dems, 72 percent, saying colleges and universities have a positive effect on the country.
And overall, slightly more than half of the public, 55 percent, believes colleges and universities are good for the country, according to the Pew survey.
About the poll: The Pew survey was conducted from June 8 to 18 among 2,504 adults. The margin of error is 2.3 points.
