Donald Trump Jr Just Handed Special Counsel Mueller Evidence He Didn’t Have
Donald Trump Jr. just made a major boo boo.
Donald Trump Jr. tweeted out an email exchange Tuesday morning that confirms he colluded with the Russians during the 2016 election. And in doing so, Trump Jr. apparently handed Special Counsel Rober Mueller evidence that he didn’t already have.
The revelation means that the emails and meeting in question will likely open an entirely new line of inquiry by the Special Counsel which will open up additional exposure for Trump Jr., Manafort and Kushner.
According to a new CNN report, “The details of the interactions between Trump Jr., Goldstone and Veselnitskaya weren’t fully known to federal investigators until recently, according to three US officials familiar with the probe.”
The Special Counsel investigation now plans to review the meeting and email exchanges that Donald Trump Jr. tweeted out, CNN reports.
Trump Jr. forwarded the email chain to Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner, who both attended the meeting with the Russian lawyer promising damaging information about Clinton.
In the emails, a Trump associate told Trump Jr. that a “Russian government attorney” wanted to give him “very high level and sensitive information” that would “incriminate” Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
The CNN report cites a US official that has briefed on the matter.
It was reported Tuesday that the New York Times was getting ready to publish the emails and the Trump Jr. released them himself after being approached by the Times.
Even if you know that it is shocking that Donald Trump Jr. tweeted out concrete evidence that the Special Counsel didn’t already have.
