Trump’s Lawyers Have Known About The Trump Jr. Russia Emails For At Least A Month: Report
We just got another development in the Trump-Russia scandal.
According to new reporting by Michael Isikoff of Yahoo News, Donald Trump’s lawyers have known about the bombshell Trump Jr. emails proving collusion since at least June.
“President Trump’s legal team was informed more than three weeks ago about the email chain showing that his son Donald Jr. met with a Kremlin-connected lawyer last June, two sources familiar with the handling of the matter told Yahoo News,” Isikoff reported.
Trump told Reuters that he only found out that his son was attempting to collude with the Russian government over the last few days, however, this new reporting starts to call that timeline into question.
Isikoff’s sources say that “Marc Kasowitz, the president’s chief lawyer in the Russia investigation, and Alan Garten, executive vice president and chief legal officer of the Trump Organization, were both informed about the emails in the third week of June, after they were discovered by lawyers for Kushner, who is now a senior White House official.”
Trump’s lawyers were tipped off when Jared Kushner’s attorneys amended his security clearance forms revealing the meeting between Trump Jr., Kushner and Paul Manafort and the Russian lawyer.
