American Medical Association Blasts The New Version Of Republican Health Care Plan
The largest doctors organization doesn’t like the new bill either.
Essentially all major medical organizations – including doctors, nurses, hospitals – have come out against the Republican plan to repeal Obamacare.
And on Friday, the American Medical Association released a statement blasting the new version of the Republican bill.
“The revised bill does not address the key concerns of physicians and patients regarding proposed Medicaid cuts and inadequate subsidies that will result in millions of Americans losing health insurance coverage,” American Medical Association President David O. Barbe said in a statement Friday.
He noted that while more money for opioid treatment is a positive step, people in drug treatment will “have other healthcare needs that are not likely to be addressed if they lose coverage through a rollback of the Medicaid expansion.”
