America’s Opposition To GOP Health Bill Is Growing: Poll

The already extremely unpopular Republican health plan just got more unpopular.

A new poll finds that the public’s opposition to the Republican health care plan is growing. In fact, over the past month, the number of Americans who oppose the Republican plan has grown from 55 percent unfavorable to 61 percent unfavorable.

And people’s opposition is getting stronger.

Since June, the group of Americans saying they have a “very unfavorable” view of the GOP plan has grown from 38 percent to 44 percent.

The poll also finds that a majority of the public thinks the current replacement plan being discussed does not fulfill most of the promises Donald Trump has made about health care.

The new Kaiser Family Foundation poll comes as Republicans try to force their new version of an Obamacare repeal bill to the floor of the Senate for a vote. However, with two no votes (Rand Paul and Susan Collins) Senate Republicans are one no vote away from failure.

There are currently 6 Republican senators who have not announced their position on the bill.

Obamacare continues to be broadly popular

The Kaiser poll also found steady support for Obamacare with 50 percent of Americans having a favorable view of the program.
