Republican Governors Spent $400,000 At Trump Golf Course
Donald Trump keeps profiting from the presidency.
According to IRS filings, the Republican Governors Association spent more than $400,000 at Donald Trump’s golf course in Miami this year.
The filings had two large payments to the Trump’s property for $117,966 in April and $289,810 in June. The payments were described as “event.”
According to the ethics watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), the payments represent the largest payments reported to a Trump business by a political entity.
The payments to Trump’s golf course were larger than other payments the Republican Governors Association made for similar events in 2016, according to the filings.
CREW noted that showed the most the RGA paid an event venue in 2016 was $285,616 at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, California.
