Special Counsel Mueller Expands Investigation to Trump Business Transactions
That was fast.
Just hours after Donald Trump warned Special Counsel Mueller, in an interview with the New York Times, not to look into his family business – we are learning that is in fact precisely what the Special Counsel is doing.
Robert Mueller is probing into Donald Trump’s business transactions as part of the Special Counsel’s ongoing investigation into ties between the Trump campaign and Russians, according to a Thursday report in Bloomberg.
The Bloomberg report notes that the Special Counsel is looking at purchases from Russian buyers at Trump properties, the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow, a SoHo development involving Russian associates and Trump’s 2008 sale of a Florida mansion to a Russian oligarch.
“The roots of Mueller’s follow-the-money investigation lie in a wide-ranging money laundering probe launched by then-Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara last year, according to the person,” Bloomberg reports.
