Senate Rejects GOP’s First Obamacare Replacement Bill
Republicans lose round 1 of many.
After achieved the 50 plus Vice President Mike Pence votes required to begin debate on their Obamacare repeal effort, Republicans have lost an important initial vote.
The Senate Tuesday night rejected the official Senate Obamacare replacement bill known as the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA) by a vote of 43 to 57.
The nine Republican Senators who voted against the bill were Susan Collins, Bob Corker, Tom Cotton, Lindsey Graham, Dean Heller, Mike Lee, Jerry Moran, Lisa Murkowski and Rand Paul.
No Democrats voted for the bill.
However, the vote is just the first of many amendments over the next few days.
