BREAKING

The Senate vote went down to the wire Friday morning and in the end, the Republicans didn’t have the votes to repeal Obamacare.

Senator John McCain lived up to his “maverick” reputation and cast the decisive vote to save Obamacare.

On the Republican side, McCain was joined by Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski.

Vice President Mike Pence made a significant 11th-hour effort to convince John McCain to vote yes on the bill. At one point, John McCain was seen patting Mike Pence’s hand and walking away. But the Vice President’s efforts were not enough.

All Democrats voted against the Obamacare repeal bill.

The CBO confirmed late Thursday night that the so-called “skinny” repeal bill would cause at least 16 million people to lose their health insurance and cause insurance premiums to skyrocket 20 percent.

The story is still developing. We will update this post as details come in.
