After Biggest Defeat Of His Presidency, Trump Threatens To Sabotage Obamacare
If Trumpy can’t be happy, then no one can have their health insurance.
Donald Trump had an epically disastrous week (yes, that is the official term for it). After promising for years that repealing Obamacare would be easy and happen quickly, Trump’s six-month effort to repeal Obamacare came to an unceremonious end this week.
And now that Donald Trump is facing defeat, he’s behaving exactly like you think he would. If Trumpy can’t be happy, no one can have health insurance.
Trump took to Twitter on Saturday to threaten ending a key Obamacare provision that helps subsidize premiums for middle-income Americans.
“After seven years of ‘talking’ Repeal & Replace, the people of our great country are still being forced to live with imploding ObamaCare!” Trump tweeted.
“If a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon!” he added.

The provision Trump is threatening is not actually a bailout for insurance companies. The Cost Sharing Reduction (CSR) payments are subsidies for people who can’t afford to buy insurance that helps to lower the amount individuals have to pay for deductibles, copayments and insurance.
Now that Donald Trump has to face the music with his key campaign promise, expect his efforts to sabotage Obamacare to ramp up dramatically.
