Trump Involved In Promoting False Fox News Story About DNC Staffer’s Death
Donald Trump, Fox News implicated in the promotion of fake news story.
Donald Trump worked with Fox News to orchestrate and disseminate fake news to distract from news stories about the Trump-Russia scandal, a new lawsuit alleges.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court alleges that the false Fox News story about murdered Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich was reviewed edited by Donald Trump prior to its publication at the specific request of the White House.
The lawsuit was filed by a private investigator and Fox contributor who says his quotes in the story were fabricated by Fox News.
“Fox News was working with the Trump administration to disseminate fake news in order to distract the public from Russia’s alleged attempts to influence our Country’s presidential election,” according to the lawsuit filed by Rod Wheeler the homicide detective who investigated Rich’s murder.
Wheeler was a frequent guest on Fox News to discuss the case. However, he says the quotes attributed to him that his investigation “shows there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and Wikileaks” and that “someone within the D.C. government, Democratic National Committee or Clinton team is blocking the investigation from going forward” were false and fabricated.
The lawsuit states that the false quotes attributed “because this is the way the president wanted the article.”
