Ezra Watnick, Who Leaked Classified Documents To Nunes, Out At National Security Council
Another Flynn loyalist has been purged.
Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence on the National Security Council who leaked information to Republican Congressman Devin Nunes about the so called “unmasking” of Trump associates by the Barack Obama administration, has been removed from the National Security Council.
Watnick was hired during by Michael Flynn and is considered a Flynn loyalist.
“[National Security Advisor] General McMaster appreciates the good work accomplished in the NSC’s Intelligence directorate under Ezra Cohen’s leadership,” a White House official said.
“He has determined that, at this time, a different set of experiences is best-suited to carrying that work forward,” the official continued.
“General McMaster is confident that Ezra will make many further significant contributions to national security in another position in the administration.”
The removal of Watnick is the latest evidence that National Security Advisor McMaster is purging Trump-Flynn loyalists who have no business within the national security apparatus of the United States.
