Russian Spy Plane Flies Over Washington DC, Heads Towards Bedminster: Report
Anyone else freaking out?!
An unarmed Russian spy plane flew over the U.S. Capitol at low altitude on Wednesday as part of an observation flight, CNN reported.
The plane flew low over the Pentagon, CIA, Capitol building and Andrews Air Force base in Washington, D.C.
Though the flight was routine, the Russian intelligence-gathering operation highlights the growing tension between the U.S. and Moscow.
The move by Russia is the latest in a series of brazen moves including the hack of the 2016 election.
The flight path of the Russian spy plane included Donald Trump’s New Jersey golf course, where he is currently vacationing.
According to CNN, the flight path also included “Camp David, the presidential retreat in the Catoctin Mountains, the Trump National Golf Course in Virginia, and Mount Weather, one of the US government’s secret relocation bunkers.”
U.S. Capitol Police issued an alert on announcing the flight of a “large” aircraft over Washington between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., but did not say that the aircraft belonged to the Russian Air Force.
