Trump Suggests Mitch McConnell Step Down After Obamacare Repeal Failure
Republican civil war heats up.
The war between Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell is heating up.
According to the Associated Press, during a short off camera press availability, Trump said “You can ask the question” about whether Majority Leader Mitch McConnell should remain in his position if he cannot pass a plan to repeal and replace health care, change the tax code and move an infrastructure proposal.
The suggestion that McConnell needs to step down is the latest in the war of words between the two most powerful Republicans in Washington.
The tensions flared up after McConnell suggested that Trump had “excessive expectations” for his agenda.
Trump shot back on Twitter saying “Senator Mitch McConnell said I had ‘excessive expectations,’ but I don’t think so. After 7 years of hearing Repeal & Replace, why not done?”
