If Midterms Were Held Today, Democrats Would Win In Landslide: Poll
New poll has good news for Democrats.
Democrats have a 10 point advantage in a generic House ballot, according to the new Quinnipiac University poll.
According to the survey released Thursday, 50 percent of responders said that they want Democrats to win control of the House. Just 40 percent said they want Republicans to keep control.
The edge for Democrats come largely from independent voters with 93 percent of registered Democrats saying they want Democrats to win control of the House and 92 percent of Republicans saying they back their party.
Notably, 10 percent of respondents said they either didn’t know or declined to answer.
Other key numbers in the poll:
- 67 percent say that Donald Trump is not levelheaded
- 59 percent say that Donald Trump is not honest
- 59 percent say that Donald Trump does not have good leadership skills
- 56 percent that he does not care about average Americans
- 61 percent say that Trump does not share their values
About the poll: The Quinnipiac University survey was conducted from Aug. 9-15 among 1,361 voters. Its margin of error is plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
