More Charities Drop Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Because Of White Supremacist Defense
Nonprofits are abandoning Trump.
The number of organizations that have canceled events at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort following his defense of white supremacists has grown to at least 20.
The cancellations began on Thursday when the Clevland Clinic announced it would no longer be using the Florida resort. After the Clevland Clinic, several others followed.
And now the Palm Beach Post is reporting that the number has reached at least 20.
On Sunday, the Palm Beach Zoo announced it would be canceling their events as well. “We have an unyielding commitment to inspire people to act on behalf of wildlife and the natural world,” the zoo’s CEO and president, Andrew Aiken, said in a statement. “After thoughtful consideration by Zoo leadership, we have decided it is important that we not allow distractions to deter us from our mission and culture.”
The 20th organization to announce was The Kravis Center which canceled its 2018 Wine Auction at Mar-a-Lago.
Other organizations that have canceled are the Autism Project of Palm Beach County, the Salvation Army, Susan G. Komen, the American Red Cross, and American Friends of Magen David Adom, an Israeli EMS and blood bank provider.
