That Time Trump Supported DACA (VIDEO)
“This isn’t conservative, this is compassion,” Donald Trump told “Fox and Friends” on a morning in 2011 discussing DACA.
CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski tweeted a video of an interview Donald Trump gave in 2011 that shows he supports keeping undocumented families in the United States.
“You ask Michele [Bachmann] to actually, physically go across the street and tell the family of 25 years to get out of this country, she wouldn’t do it because she’s a good person,” Trump said in a Fox News phone interview.
At the time, he was criticizing presidential candidate Mitt Romney for contradicting his previous statements about undocumented people.
In a second interview on CNBC, Trump talks about how great these undocumented people are – how they have “done wonderfully” and why he doesn’t believe they shouldn’t be sent out of the country.
“You have people in this country for 20 years, they’ve done a great job, they’ve done wonderfully, they’ve gone to school, they’ve gotten good marks, they’re productive — now we’re supposed to send them out of the country?” he said. “I don’t believe in that.”
