Classmates of Treasury Secretary Demanding He Quit

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin’s friends are not happy with him right now.

His fellow Yale alumni and 185 graduates of Riverdale Country School in New York — considered one of the best and most exclusive private schools in the country — are calling on him to quit his job in the Trump administration.

They thought he was slow to denounce hate groups after violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, last month.

“Like your classmates from Yale, we believe your resignation would be the most honorable choice,” the graduates of Riverdale Country School wrote.

“We all grew up in one of the most culturally and racially diverse cities in the world,” they wrote. “How is it that you have moved so far away from the values that we shared as students together?”

Mnuchin has insisted that he will not step down from his position.

However, Mnuchin has faced a handful of controversies recently, such as wasting government resources.

He was accused of using a government plane for personal reasons, like his honeymoon or a trip to Kentucky to access a prime location for eclipse watching.

He has claimed he used government plane because of national security.
