Mueller Just Hired Another Money Laundering Prosecutor For Trump-Russia Investigation
New Muller hire confirms he is following the money.
You can assume a lot about the Speical Counsel investigation by the kinds of attornies that Robert Mueller has been hiring. And so far, he’s been staffing his team with the who’s who of financial crimes prosecutors.
Those hires suggest that Mueller is going after Trump and his associates for sophisticated financial crimes.
And we just got news of one more Mueller hire that confirms these assumptions.
Mueller has hired attorney Kyle Freeny to join his investigation. Freeny is coming over from the Justice Department’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section since last year.
She has previous high-profile work money laundering cases.
Freeny and other Mueller team members were spotted at a Washington courthouse Friday, presumably for the testimony of Paul Manafort’s spokesman.
Freeny is the 17th lawyer to join the Mueller investigation.
