Senate Intel Orders Public Hearing For Trump Lawyer After He Violated Senate Rules

BREAKING

The Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday abruptly canceled a highly anticipated interview it Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen.

The committee leaders said they were calling off the private interview after Cohen ignored their agreement to not speak with the press about his testimony.

“We were disappointed that Mr. Cohen decided to pre-empt today’s interview by releasing a public statement prior to his engagement with Committee staff, in spite of the Committee’s requests that he refrain from public comment,” Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Vice Chairman Mark Warner (D-Va.) said in a statement.

“As a result, we declined to move forward with today’s interview.”

The committee will now reschedule Cohen’s appearance as an open setting “in the near future,” they said.

Tuesday’s interview, with staff, was planned to be behind closed doors.
