Mueller Just Hit Trump With The Mother Of All Document Requests
Special Counsel Mueller has requested all White House documents related to Trump’s firing of Comey.
The Russia probe has officially shifted to Donald Trump’s conduct as president.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller has sent the White House a request for documents pertaining to some of President Trump’s most controversial moves in office, according to a new report by The New York Times.
The move confirms that at least part of Mueller’s Russia investigation is now focused directly on Trump’s time as president.
As The New York Times notes, “The document requests provide the most details to date about the breadth of Mr. Mueller’s investigation, and show that several aspects of his inquiry are focused squarely on Mr. Trump’s behavior in the White House.”
Mueller’s team sent a document to the White House that detailed 13 different areas that investigators want more information about
Mueller wants documents and communications relating to the following:
- Trump’s firing of James Comey
- Trump’s meeting with high-ranking Russian officials in the Oval Office the day after Comey’s firing
- The events leading to the firing of Michael Flynn
- The White House’s response to questions from NYT about Donald Trump Jr.’s Trump Tower meeting with Russian officials
