Sean Spicer Just Lawyered Up: Report
Another member of the Trump circle has hired a lawyer.
Former Press Secretary Sean Spicer has hired an attorney to represent him in Special Counsel Mueller’s Russia investigation, The Daily Beast is reporting.
According to the report, Spicer has hired “Chris Mead, a high-powered criminal defense attorney based, to handle issues related to the special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.”
Spicer is just the latest Trump associate to be forced to lawyer up in the rapidly expanding scandal.
The former press secretary is expected to be a key witness in Mueller’s investigation because he attended so many high-level meetings and took very detailed notes.
As The Daily Beast reminds us, “Spicer is not the first White House official to bring on legal help. White House Communications Director Hope Hicks recently retained Robert Trout, of the firm Trout Cacheris & Janis. Vice President Mike Pence has retained Richard Cullen of McGuire Woods, and Jared Kushner is represented by Abbe Lowell of Norton Rose Fulbright.”
