Priebus Interviewed By Mueller’s Team: Report
Trump’s former chief of staff interviewed as part of Russia probe.
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team interviewed former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus on Friday, according to Politico report.
Politico noted that Priebus’ lawyer confirmed that “Mr. Priebus was voluntarily interviewed by Special Counsel Mueller’s team today. He was happy to answer all of their questions.”
Robert Mueller’s investigation into connections between the Trump campaign and Russia during last year’s election now includes current and former members of the White House, suggesting that a rapidly widening investigation.
Priebus left his job as White House chief of staff and replaced by John Kelly in July.
A previous Politico report noted that Trump’s lawyers are considering offering Mueller an interview with Donald Trump.
According to Politico, “Mueller’s team is expected to interview a number of other current and former White House aides, including former press secretary Sean Spicer, current chief counsel Don McGahn and communications director Hope Hicks.”
