Federal Judge Halts Trump’s Third Muslim Ban
Muslim ban blocked again.
A federal judge in Hawaii has blocked President Trump’s third version of a Muslim ban from going into effect.
Judge Derrick Watson said the third version of Trump’s ban “suffers from precisely the same maladies as its predecessor.”
Trump issued the new version on September 23 to banned travel from six majority-Muslim countries — Iran, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Somalia and Yemen.
While the Trump administration is certain to appeal, the block means the administration cannot deny travelers from six of the eight countries officials said were either unable or unwilling to provide the information the U.S. requested for entry.
