Spicer ‘Grilled’ About Comey Firing, Russia Meetings In Special Counsel Interview
Spicer’s interview with Muller’s team lasted most of the day Monday.
Former press secretary spent most of the day Monday being interviewed by Special Counsel Muller’s team, Politico is reporting.
According to the report, “Spicer was grilled about the firing of former FBI director James Comey and his statements regarding the firing, as well as about Trump’s meetings with Russians officials including one with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the Oval Office, one person familiar with the meeting said.”
Spicer’s interview follows news that former chief of staff Reince Priebus’s interview with the special counsel last week.
The interviews are a clear sign that Mueller’s investigation is moving quickly and has reached the inner workings of the Trump White House.
Politico also reports that “Mueller’s team has also interviewed Keith Kellogg, who served as interim National Security Adviser after Michael Flynn was fired.”
