Trump’s Obamacare Sabotage Already Causing Increase In Uninsured
Sabotage is working. Fewer people have health insurance since Trump took office.
Despite their repeated legislative failures, Trump and the Republican Party are having a tremendous amount of success at undermining Obamacare.
And that intentional sabotage is leading to real-world consequences.
According to Gallup, the number of people without health insurance rose by 1.4 percent since the beginning of the year.
The increase in uninsured Americans is in contrast to each previous year since Obamacare went into effect in 2014.
According to Gallup, “Uncertainty about the healthcare law also may be driving the increase. Congressional Republicans’ attempts to replace the healthcare law may be causing consumers to question whether the government will enforce the penalty for not having insurance.”
Since taking office Trump has consistently sabotaged the Affordable Care Act, including a 90 percent cut to the advertising and outreach budget for Obamacare.
Just last week, Trump announced he would end federal subsidy payments to insurance companies for low-income Americans.
