Video Proves John Kelly’s Attack On Rep. Wilson Was Wrong

John Kelly didn’t get the facts right on his smear of Congresswoman Wilson.

A newly resurfaced video seems to show that White House chief of staff John Kelly’s attack on Rep. Frederica Wilson was false.

Kelly accused Wilson of standing up and taking credit for getting funding for a new FBI building in Miami in 2015.

Kelly made the attack while speaking to reporters during a press briefing where he tried to end the growing controversy around Trump’s call with the widow of a soldier killed in an ambush in Niger.

“A congresswoman stood up, and in a long tradition of empty barrels making the most noise, stood up there in all of that and talked about how she was instrumental in getting the funding for that building, and how she took care of her constituents because she got the money, and she just called up President Obama, and on that phone call, he gave the money, the $20 million, to build the building, and she sat down,” Kelly told reporters.

The video, which surfaced today, seems to contradict Kelly’s statements about Wilson.

Wilson, in fact, took credit for getting the building named after two FBI agents who were killed in the line of duty.

Wilson was not a member of Congress when the funding for the building was secured.
