Trump Data Firm Tried To Help Assange’s On Clinton Emails: Report

Another connection between Trump world and Russia.

The data analytics firm, Cambridge Analytica, that worked for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign made efforts to work with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange about locating Hillary Clinton’s missing emails, according to a new report by The Daily Beast.

Alexander Nix, who is the head of Cambridge Analytica, told a someone that he reached out to Assange in order to see if his firm could help Assange release Clinton’s 33,000 missing emails.

According to the report, Assange reportedly told Nix he preferred to do the work on his own.

The report provides yet another clear connection between the Trump campaign and Russian actors who meddled with the campaign on Trump’s behalf.

Assange confirmed that Cambridge Analytica approached WikiLeaks, The Daily Beast reports.

Cambridge Analytica has long been thought to be a key nexus between the Russian intelligence campaign and the Trump campaign, providing the necessary data targets for the Russia operation.

Donald Trump repeatedly praised Wikileaks throughout the campaign, adding credence to the theory that Trump’s inner circle was communicating with Wikileaks and other Russian intermediaries.
