Trump’s Approval Rating Hits New Low In Fox News Poll

Even Trump’s favorite poll has bad numbers for him.

President Donald Trump’s approval rating dropped to a new low in the new Fox News poll, with just 38 percent of respondents saying they approve of Trump’s job performance.

The poll, which was released Wednesday, follows several after chaotic weeks that included Trump’s fight with a Gold Star family, the growing crisis ins Puerto Rico and the eruption of a Republican civil war.

Trump’s 38 percent job approval rating is down from 42% last month, while disapproval rating has increased from 53 percent to a new high of 57 percent.

However, despite the drop in approval, Trump is still popular among Republicans.

Trump’s approval rating among Republicans 83 percent. But at the same time, just 7 percent Democrats and only 30 percent of independents approve of Trump’s job performance.

More signs that Trump’s base is eroding

A significant portion of the coalition that helped Trump win the White House included white men without a college degree. In fact, Trump won that group by a margin of 67% to 28%.

There news signs, according to the Fox News poll, that this group is starting to abandoning him.

Trump’s approval rating among white men without college degrees is down to 56 percent. Last month, that number was 68 percent.

About the poll: The Fox News poll was conducted by telephone with live interviewers October 22-24, 2017 among a random national sample of 1,005 registered voters. The margin of error is plus or minus three percentage points.
