Trump Adviser Pleads Guilty To Making False Statements To FBI
George Papadopoulos pleads guilty to lying to FBI in Russia investigation.
George Papadopoulos, who served as an adviser to Donald Trump during the campaign, has pled guilty to lying to the FBI in the Russia investigation.
The revelation that Papadopoulos has pled guilty on the same day that Paul Manafort Rick Gates were indicted increases speculation that Papadopoulos is a cooperating witness in Muller’s investigation.
Previous reports revealed that Papadopoulos attempted several times during the campaign to set up meetings with between Donald Trump and senior Rusian officials including Vladimir Putin.
Papadopoulos’s guilty plea is the first Russia related charge in the Special Counsel’s investigation.
