Newly Disclosed Emails Reveal Follow-Up After Trump Tower Meeting
Previously undisclosed emails show there was follow-up after Donald Trump Jr.’s Trump Tower meeting.
The June 2016 Trump Tower meeting wasn’t the end of it.
Previously undisclosed emails show that was follow-up after the infamous Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer, a CNN report revealed Thursday.
Rob Goldstone, the British publicist and Trump associate who arranged the June 2016 meeting with the Russians, sent several emails following up on the meeting to senior Trump aide Dan Scavino.
Scavino is now the White House director of social media in the Trump White House.
According to CNN, “In one email dated June 14, 2016, Goldstone forwarded a CNN story on Russia’s hacking of DNC emails to his client, Russian pop star Emin Agalarov, and Ike Kaveladze, a Russian who attended the meeting along with Trump Jr., Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and Manafort, describing the news as “eerily weird” given what they had discussed at Trump Tower five days earlier.”
The newly disclosed follow-up emails reinforce previous reports of regular communication between Trump associates and the Russians during the campaign in an effort to interfere with the 2016 election.
