Mueller Likely To Indict Manafort Again: Report

New report reveals that Trump’s campaign chairman is expected to face additional criminal charges.

This is just the beginning of Paul Manafort’s legal troubles.

President Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort is likely to face additional criminal indictments, a new report by The Daily Beast notes.

The Daily Beast’s Betsy Woodroof reports that “In Washington legal circles, there’s a broad expectation that Mueller will file what’s called a superseding indictment of Manafort and Rick Gates, his erstwhile business partner—and alleged partner in crime. Gates and Manafort both pleaded not guilty when Mueller’s team filed their indictment on Oct. 30. Legal experts say there may be more charges to come.”

Woodroof quotes George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley who notes that Mueller’s team may have actually left hints to future charges against Manafort in their original indictment.

“There was much in the narrative of the indictment that referenced crimes not charged,” Turley said.

Woodruff also points out that Mueller “hinted at potential tax charges for Manafort’s foreign financial transactions. Federal prosecutors can bring charges against any American who has money in a foreign bank account and doesn’t check a box on their tax forms disclosing it.”
