Mueller Has Recalled At Least One Participant From Trump Tower Meeting

Special Counsel is focusing on the Trump campaign’s meeting with Russian agents in June 2016.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has called back at least one participant from the now infamous June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between the Trump campaign and Russian agent, the LA Times has reported.

Donald Trump Jr’s meeting with a Kremlin-connected lawyer at Trump Tower has been at the center of the Russia investigation ever since it was revealed last year.

“The Times is not identifying the individual Mueller has asked to return for further questioning as part of an agreement to keep the identity confidential,” the report notes.

However, it is notable that Mueller investigation has renewed its focus on the meeting which is a sign that Mueller is pursuing an obstruction of justice against Trump or his team.

As The New York Times first reported it in July of 2016, Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort met several Russian agents including a Kremlin-linked lawyer after they promised to bring damaging information on Hillary Clinton.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team is probing whether President Trump or any members of his administration lied when the White House issued a statement saying participants of the meeting only discussed an adoption program.

The statements from Trump along with Donald Trump Jr.’s false statement are seen as key to a conspiracy charge against Trump team.
