James Comey’s Twitter Response To Trump’s ‘Sh-thole’ Comment Is Flawless
The former FBI Director tweets out words from the Statue of Liberty poem in response to the president’s “sh-thole countries” comment.
In the wake of President Trump’s racist attack on immigrants from what he termed to be “sh-thole countries,” James Comey tweeted a response.
The former FBI director quoted a part of “New Colossus,” the poem inscribed on the Statue of Liberty.
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” Comey tweeted Thursday.
“This country’s greatness and true genius lies in its diversity,” he added.
