There Is New Evidence That Rick Gates Is About To Flip
It sure looks like another Trump official is negotiating a plea deal with the Special Counsel.
Former Trump campaign staffer Rick Gates has hired a white collar crime lawyer who is known for negotiating plea deals with federal prosecutors.
Gates, who was indicted on several criminal counts by Mueller in 2016, has hired Thomas Green who is a veteran Washington defense attorney with a long track record of negotiating plea agreements.
The move is a new sign that Gates is about to flip which would give Special Counsel Mueller additional leverage in the Trump-Russia investigation.
Gates worked for years as a key deputy to Paul Manafort and it is likely that any plea agreement would come in exchange for cooperation in the case against Manafort.
ABC News and CNN both reported the news that Gates has hired Thomas Green.
