It’s Official: Rick Gates Has Flipped, Will Testify Against Manafort
The former Trump aide has made a deal with the Special Counsel to testify against his fellow Trump campaign associates.
Things just went from bad to worse for Donald Trump.
Former senior Trump campaign aide Rick Gates has reached a deal with the Special Counsel to plead guilty and testify against his former boss Paul Manafort.
The news was first reported by the LA Times Sunday.
According to the LA Times report, “The change of heart by Trump’s former deputy campaign manager, Richard W. Gates III, who had pleaded not guilty after being indicted in October on charges similar to Manafort’s, was described in interviews by people familiar with the case.”
The revelation that Gates has flipped and will now testify against Paul Manafort will add additional pressure on Manafort to make his own deal in exchange for testimony against other senior Trump campaign officials.
