Mueller Just Hit Manafort With A Massive New 32-Count Indictment
Former Trump campaign chief has been hit with a new 32-count superseding indictment in Russia case.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller just hit former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his deputy Rick Gates with a massive new superseding indictment.
A federal grand jury in Virginia on Thursday returned a 32-count superseding indictment that charges Manafort and Gates with committing tax fraud, failing to file reports on foreign bank and financial accounts and bank fraud conspiracy.
“Manafort and Gates generated tens of millions of dollars in income as a result of their Ukraine work,” the indictment says.
“From approximately 2006 through the present, Manafort and Gates engaged in a scheme to hide income from United States authorities, while enjoying the use of the money.”
These new charges in the Trump-Russia investigation come less than a week after Special Counsel Mueller indicted 13 Russian nationals and 3 Russian entities for criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States and interfere with the 2016 election.
