New Mueller Filing Suggests Rick Gates Is Sharing Significant Evidence
We just got our latest sign yet that Rick Gates is turning over significant evidence to the Special Counsel.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team of investigators has filed a motion to drop the charges in the superseding indictment it had filed against Rick Gates last week.
Mueller’s move to drop the new charges against Gates is the latest sign that he is providing the Special Counsel with significant evidence.
The Special Counsel had filed a 32-count superseding indictment last week against Paul Manafort and Rick Gates.
Under his plea agreement, Gates would still face a sentence of 57 to 71 months in prison, however, the Special Counsel has the discretion to suggest a much shorter sentence if it believes Gates is cooperating.
Last week, Gates pled guilty to charges on one count of conspiracy against the United States and one count of lying to the FBI and the Special Counsel.
