NSA Chief Confirms Trump Hasn’t Given Order To Stop Russian Cyber Threat
NSA Director Mike Rogers: President Trump hasn’t told me to stop Russia from interfering in U.S. elections.
The chief of the National Security Agency testified to Congress Tuesday that President Trump has not given him the order to prevent any future election interference from Russia.
Director Mike Rogers confirmed to Congress, “I haven’t been granted any additional authorities” to block the Russian cyber threat.
“I need a policy decision that indicates there is specific direction to do that,” Rogers said.
“The president ultimately would make this decision in accordance with a recommendation from the secretary of Defense.”
Rogers also told Congress “They have not paid a price that is sufficient to change their behavior.”
As NSA Director Rogers also serves as commander of U.S. Cyber Command.
