Andrew McCabe Just Hired A Superstar Lawyer To Fight Firing
The former FBI Deputy Director isn’t going down without a fight.
Andrew McCabe has hired a high powered lawyer to help him fight his firing, The Washington Post is reporting.
McCabe has hired Michael Bromwich to represent him.
And Bromwich isn’t just any lawyer, as the former Justice Department’s Inspector General he is probably the most acquainted person with the Justice Department procedures that are required when firing a senior employee.
Late Friday night, after months of public and private pressure from President Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that he was firing McCabe – just two days before his retirement date.
McCabe released a statement in response saying his firing was politically motivated and intended to discredit the Special Counsel investigation and his connection to it.
“This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally,” McCabe said in a statement.
“It is part of this Administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel investigation, which continue to this day.”
