Former CIA Director Calls Trump’s Putin Summit ‘Treasonous’
Ex CIA Director John Brennan says Trump’s press conference behavior “nothing short of treasonous.”
Former CIA Director John Brennan issued a scathing statement about Donald Trump’s baffling Helsinki press conference Monday calling it “nothing short of treasonous.”
Brennan said Trump’s unwillingness to blame Russia for meddling in the 2016 U.S. election “rises to & exceeds the threshold of “high crimes & misdemeanors.”
“It was nothing short of treasonous,” Brennan continued. “Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin.”
The former CIA Director also implored Republicans in Congress to get involved saying, “Republican Patriots: Where are you???”
As Brennan notes, Trump failed to blame Russia When asked by a reporter if he held Russia accountable “at all” for the strained relationship between the two nations. Instead, Trump responded that “I hold both countries responsible. I think the U.S. has been foolish. We all have been foolish. We have both made some mistakes.”
