GOP Insiders Are Freaking Out That The Party ‘Looks Like A Criminal Enterprise’
A culture of corruption.
Seemingly lost in the one-two punch of Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort guilty verdicts yesterday was the news that a second GOP member of Congress was also indicted by federal prosecutors.
Republican Duncan Hunter of California was charged by the Department of Justice for stealing campaign funds and using the money to pay for lavish family vacations and other personal expenses.
And Hunter is the second GOP member of Congress to be indicted in the last few weeks. The first was Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.), charged two weeks ago with insider trading.
And now it seems that GOP insiders are starting to freak out.
Axios’ Mike Allen reports that one Republican party insider says “The Republican Party looks like a criminal enterprise.”
And according to Allen Democrats are planning to continue raising the “culture of corruption” issue against Republicans on the campaign trail this Fall.
