Donald Trump Approval Rating Just Hit A New Record Low: Poll
A new poll finds Trump is losing ground with independent voters.
Donald Trump just got more disastrously bad poll numbers.
Just as the midterm election season swings into full gear a fresh set of poll numbers from CNN suggest Republicans are headed for trouble in November.
According to the latest CNN/SSRS poll released Monday, Donald Trumps job approval rating stands at a new record low.
Just 36 percent of voters approve of Trump’s job performance as president, which is down 6 points since last month.
Importantly, Trump is losing ground with independent voters. The CNN poll found that just 31 percent of independents approve of Trump – also a new low.
As you can see from the chart above, Trump’s disapproval numbers are growing rather dramatically in the last few months.
An astounding 61 percent say they have an unfavorable opinion of Donald Trump, the worst of his presidency.
Other bad numbers for Trump in the CNN poll:
- 32 percent say Trump is honest and trustworthy.
- 32 percent say they are proud to have Donald Trump as president.
- 36 percent believe Donald Trump “cares about people like you.”
- 30 percent say he will unite the country and not divide it.
- 37 percent think Trump respects the rule of law.
About the poll: The poll from CNN was conducted Sept. 6-9 among a population of 1,003 adults. The margin of error is 3.8 percentage points.
