Paul Manafort Shared Secret Campaign Data With Russian Agent: Report
Manafort’s lawyers accidentally revealed in court documents that Paul Manafort shared secret Trump campaign materials with a Russian intelligence operative.
Attorneys for former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort inadvertently revealed Tuesday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team has evidence Manafort shared polling data with a Russian intelligence agent and later lied to the Special Counsel about it.
The revelation came after Manafort’s lawyers failed to properly redact a court filing Tuesday.
Manafort’s lawyers were responding to the Special Counsel’s claim that Manafort broke his September 2018 plea agreement by lying to investigators but appear to have inadvertently revealed that Mueller has evidence that “Manafort lied about sharing polling data with [Konstantin Kilimnik] related to the 2016 presidential campaign.”
The Russian agent that Manafort shared secret Trump campaign polling information to is named Konstantin Kilimnik who is a long time associate of Manafort.
Kilimnik considered by United States Intel agencies to have a long history of working with Russian intelligence.
In June, Kilimnik was named alongside Manafort in an indictment by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
