New poll has devastating numbers for Donald Trump
Americans don’t think that Donald Trump is fit to be president, according to a new poll by Quinnipiac University.
The poll found that 56 percent of American voters say President Donald Trump is not “fit to serve as president.” With just 42 percent of voters saying that Trump is fit to be president.
The results fall along partisan, gender and racial lines with 94 percent of Democrats and 57 percent of independents saying that Trump is unfit to serve as president. Just 14 percent of Republicans say Trump is unfit.
Among women, 63 percent say Trump is unfit, while just 49 percent of men agree he is unfit for office.
And among African Americans and Hispanics, 94 and 60 percent say Trump is unfit respectively. White voters are divided with 48 percent saying he is unfit.
And the bad news for Trump doesn’t stop there with 57 percent of voters saying they disapprove of the job Trump is doing as president. Trump’s approval rating is 36 percent.

- 62 percent of voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of race relations
- 60 percent say that Trump is doing more to divide the country than unite it
- 69 percent of voters say that Trump should stop tweeting
- 59 percent say that Trump is not honest
- 60 percent say that Trump does not have good leadership skills
- 67 percent say that Donald Trump is not level-headed
- 56 percent say that he doesn’t care about average Americans
- 61 percent of voters say that Trump does not share their values
About the poll: The Quinnipiac University was in the field from September 21 – 26 and surveyed 1,412 voters nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points, including the design effect. Live interviewers call landlines and cell phones.
